AceShowbiz - Yesterday, Katy Perry took to Instagram to tease the music video for her power anthem "Hey Hey Hey" to her devoted followers. The "Swish Swish" songstress finally premiered the music video for the track on Wednesday, December 20.
Directed by Isaac Rentz, the candy-colored visuals opens with Katy, who is dressed in colorful gowns and a gravity-defying wig, getting ready for an unwanted date with Prince Piggy. While preparing for the date, she imagines herself as feminist icon Joan of Arc, slashing the prince with her sword.
During her date, Katy finds herself unable to hold her disgust with the fat prince, leading her to slap Prince Piggy when he is about to kiss her during their dance. And of course, he is angry about it and orders his guard to chop Katy's head off. At the end of the clip, the Joan of Arc version of Katy comes to save her and kills the prince.
"Hey Hey Hey" is one of the tracks off Katy's fifth studio album "Witness", which made its way out to stores on June 9. Taking to her Instagram account shortly after the release of the clip, 33-year-old Katy told her fans, known as KatyCats, that she dedicated the video to them.
Along with a clip of herself playing the feminist warrior, she wrote in the caption, "I'm reflecting on a year that has redefined what winning means to me. And the definition of winning for me this year was simply happiness and gratitude."
She went on expressing her gratitude to all of her fans before telling them to think of the music video as "a glam little stocking from me to you. 'Hey Hey Hey' is one of my favorite songs from 'Witness' and for me, it embodies the fighting spirit I always want you to be able to find within yourself, and to see in me."
