AceShowbiz - Ahead of the release of the much-anticipated joint mixtape "Merry Christmas Lil' Mama (Deluxe Edition)", Chance the Rapper and Jeremih have given fans an early listen of one of the songs of the project. The Chicago musicians premiered "Ms. Parker" during their visit to Chicago's Power 92.3.
The approximately three-and-a-half-minute track finds the duo rhyming about wanting to help Ms. Parker with her daily duties over the laid-back tune. "Hey Ms. Parker/ Can I shovel your snow/ Let me help you with the groceries," they sing. "Walk you to the door/ Hey there neighbor/ Can I take our yout husband?/ When he get back?"
During the visit, the "Cocoa Butter Kisses" rapper revealed that the song was inspired by the attractive female neighbor Ms. Parker in 1995's comedy movie "Friday", which starred Ice Cube and Chris Tucker.
The exact release date for "Merry Christmas Lil' Mama (Deluxe Edition)" has not been announced, but both Chance and Jeremih previously told fans that they would release the mixtape sometime around this week. The duo also posted on social media a teaser video for the project, announcing that Common and Lena Waithe played drums on all the tracks.
The clip, which is a parody of a cheesy '90s CD commercial, opens with Jeremih playing a piano while the narrator says, "Now it's that time of a year again, and you know what that means. 'Merry Christmas Lil' Mama'." The tracklist of the mixtape then scrolls up the screen as Chance and Jeremih jam in a Christmas-themed recording studio.
The producer of the mixtape, Bongo ByTheWay, told Rap-Up that the festive project would feature a combination of classic remakes and original songs. "It's gonna be a little bit of both, but pretty much, it's gonna be a compilation of that project," he said of the mixtape.
