Quotes allegedly from the 'Sorry Not Sorry' songstress saying that the Korean boyband shouldn't participate at the AMAs because they're not Americans have gone viral.

AceShowbiz - While many reacted to Bangtan Boys' (BTS) performance at the 2017 American Music Awards with positive responses, Demi Lovato allegedly wasn't fond of the idea that a non-American artist took part at the event. During the Sunday, November 19 ceremony, alleged quotes from the former Disney darling about the South Korean boyband went viral.

"I think that this is the AMERICAN music awards, and we should only celebrate AMERICAN artists tonight," the "Skyscraper" singer allegedly said when asked on the red carpet about BTS' participation at the AMAs. Eagle-eyed fans, however, noticed that the 25-year-old singer/actress had not even arrived at the event when the quote attributed to her surfaced on Twitter.

Another statement which Demi allegedly had said at an interview before the award show also spread online. "At the end of the day, We celebrate American artists and I feel like #BTS doesn't deserve the spotlight tonight. You know just a thought but," read the quote attributed to the "Camp Rock" star.

But it turns out that all of the above-mentioned quotes were fake and spread by anti-fans who wanted to start a war between the two stars. In fact, Demi loved the presence of the BTS members at the AMAs, especially when the boys enjoyed her performance at the show.

Demi retweeted a short clip of BTS dancing to her performance of "Sorry Not Sorry". "I see you @BTS_twt," she wrote, adding a heart emoji.

BTS made their U.S. TV debut at the AMAs, performing their hit song "DNA" off their album "Love Yourself 'Her' ". Their performance that night became a huge talk on Twitter that it had the world's most Twitter engagements for a music group and helped them land a spot in the Guinness World Records 2018.

GWR announced on Monday, "Congrats to @BTS_twt on a stellar performance at last night's @AMAs! #DYK? The South Korean band has succeeded in earning a spot in this year's #GWR2018 edition for having the world's most @Twitter engagements for a music group!"

Many fellow celebrities shared pictures of their encounters with the seven-piece group at the AMAs. They were The Chainsmokers, Marshmello and Ansel Elgort. Meanwhile, Jared Leto expressed his reaction when seeing BTS at the show with his photo. He described it, "That look in my eyes is love for BTS."
