AceShowbiz - Tamar Braxton has been hospitalized after suffering a bad reaction to anti-flu medication. The "All the Way Home" singer was rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 11 after taking a medication that was supposed to help heal her throat.
According to TMZ, Tamar started feeling ill earlier this week while promoting her new album, "Bluebird of Happiness," in New York. She was forced to cancel several public appearances because she could hardly speak, prompting her to see an ear, nose and throat specialist.
The 40-year-old singer was prescribed Prednisone, a steroid for her throat, but her body had a horrible reaction to it. Her body began to swell up, and once she returned to Los Angeles, the swelling became so severe that she was rushed to the ER on Wednesday night.
Tamar later posted on her Instagram account a picture from her hospital bed with her hospital band. "#teamoverit [emojis] #notagain #thisbluebirdisNOThappy," she captioned it, the latter of which referred to her new album. The singer's reportedly expected to stay in the hospital for a few days until she makes a full recovery.
Tamar's new album was released on September 29. She started touring in support of the album at the end of the month. According to her website, her next live performance was due to take place in New Jersey on October 19, but tickets are no longer being sold and her show is not listed on the venue's website. She has a lengthy break before the next gig on her schedule in Richmond, Virginia on November 22.
Prior to this, Tamar performed a rendition of "My Man" at the BET Awards in June. Before hitting the stage at the award show held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the former host of "The Real" posed on the red carpet looking gorgeous in a long, sheer white lace gown that had a delicate train flowing out around her. She sported a platinum blonde bob wig and accessorized with a huge ring.
