'It's over... we're not doing it,' star Sarah Jessica Parker says of the project, which was scheduled to start filming in the coming days.

AceShowbiz - Sarah Jessica Parker has confirmed there will be no "Sex and the City 3", despite it being scheduled to start filming this fall. The Carrie Bradshaw depicter talked about the future of the third "Sex and the City" film when attending the New York City Ballet Gala on Thursday, September 28.

"It's over... we're not doing it," said the 52-year-old actress, who was attending the gala with husband Matthew Broderick, 55. "I'm disappointed," she continued. "We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story."

"'It's not just disappointing that we don't get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie," the star added when speaking to Extra.

Sarah's confirmation came just hours after Daily Mail TV reported that Kim Cattrall, who played Carrie's friend Samantha Jones in the comedy film series, had caused production to shut down just days before filming was set to begin.

Warner Bros. reportedly had given the much-anticipated threequel the green light after months of speculation, and the movie was supposed to start filming in the coming days. But the studio shelved the project after they refused to meet Kim's demands that they produce other movies she had in development or she wouldn't sign up for the project.

The studio had to cancel production, as they decided it wouldn't be fair to fans to produce a movie with only three of the four main characters. Sarah Jessica Parker as well as two other main stars of the film franchise, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, had all signed on for the same upfront salaries. They are said to be heartbroken as they wanted to give fans another installment to the hit movie and television series.

Sources close to production told Daily Mail TV the reason why the project had been shelved and they blamed it solely on Kim. "The only reason this movie isn't being made is because of Kim Cattrall," a source said. "Everyone was looking forward to making this movie but Kim made it all about her, always playing the victim."

"Kim had the audacity to tell Warner Bros that she would only do this if they made other movies she had in development. Ridiculous. Who does she think she is - George Clooney?" the source claimed.

Another added, "This franchise made her and let's be frank, it's all she is really known for. Cast and crew don't just show up to make a movie, they have to rearrange their lives. People turned down other jobs, were in the process of relocating to New York but she kept stalling and was always unavailable when answers from her were needed."

One other source said that "the script is fantastic. The fans would've loved the movie but Warner Bros couldn't give in to her ridiculous demands. Kim held everyone's life up. Her behavior is beyond disappointing. We should've been shooting the movie and now everyone is wondering will this film ever get made." The insider added, "Everyone is very sad that the fans will now miss out on what was a wonderful story about the lives of four of their favorite women."
