The opening ceremony of the Paralympic-type sports event marks the 'Suits' actress' first official public appearance with her royal boyfriend.

AceShowbiz - Meghan Markle, 36, was spotted at the opening ceremony of Prince Harry's Invictus Games at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. Although the couple did not sit next to each other, the recent outing marked the actress' first official engagament with her royal boyfriend after they had dated for more than a year.

Prince Harry, 33, sat next to U.S. First Lady Melania Trump who wore a monochromed Dior suit. They were joined by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ukraine's President Poroshenko in the VIP box. Meanwhile, Meghan sat next to her friend Markus Anderson who reportedly introduced her to the royal.

Meghan was 18 seats to Harry's left and 3 rows in front of him. The "Suits" actress who was in Toronto filming her TV show looked lovely in a purple dress with a plunging neckline and had a leather jacket draped over her shoulder to keep herself warm. She was all smiles, clapping and cheering on the athletes.

"We're two people who are really happy and in love," she said of their relationship. "I'm sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time. This is for us. It's part of what makes it so special, that it's just ours. But we're happy. Personally, I love a great love story."

Their romance inspired a TV comedy developed by none other than Meghan's ex-husband Trevor Engelson. The actor/producer was married to Meghan from 2011 to 2013. They have no children together, but he "mused about what would've been if Engelson and Markle had kids and he had to share custody with the British Royal family one day."

The project, not yet titled, has received pilot commitment from FOX. Danny Zuker ("Modern Family") is hired to write the script while Jake Kasdan ("New Girl", "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle") is attached to direct the pilot.
