Backed by a band, the group's Andrew Taggart performed some hit songs with the groom and the bride while being surrounded by 200 wedding guests.

AceShowbiz - One lucky couple in Philadelphia got an impromptu performance by The Chainsmokers at their wedding over the weekend. Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall definitely gave the newlyweds a night to remember as they took the stage to perform some of their hit songs, including "Closer", "Paris" and "Something Just Like This" at the intimate reception that took place at The Rittenhouse Hotel.

The groom is apparently Andrew's friend as they attended Syracuse University together. The beatmaker was one of the groomsmen, while his bandmate was a guest. During their performance, the EDM duo were joined by the groom and the bride to serenade 200 guests. However, they were backed with music from a band instead of a turntable.

The group later took to their Instagram account to share a photo taken from the wedding. It saw Andrew and Alex looking sharp in suits while posing with the groom and their manager Adam Alpert. They cheekily captioned the pic, "Wedding Crashers."

It wasn't the first time the EDM group performed an impromptu gig at special event. Back in April, they crashed a high-school prom in Chicago and performed some of their singles. "About two weeks ago I got this random phone call [from the band's filmographer] that I happened to answer," Huntley High principal told Chicago Daily Herald. "And on the other end this person said, 'This is going to be the strangest call you've ever received, but one of your students actually sent an email to the manager of the band.' It was probably the toughest secret I've ever kept, because I knew the kids were going to go crazy for it."

The Chainsmokers is currently gearing up for a tour in Australia and New Zealand in support of their debut full-length album "Memories...Do Not Open", which was released in April. They wrapped up the North American run in June after performing on 40 dates across the country.

The group kicked their career into high gear with the effort. One of its tracks, "Closer" featuring Halsey, spent more than 50 weeks on Billboard Hot 100. The song was recently removed by Billboard from the chart as it was allegedly taking the spots from new songs that might have entered the list.
