Dubbed the hero that the world needs now, David is reluctant to save the world in the promo for the show's long-awaited return.

AceShowbiz - Larry David is a reluctant vigilante in a new promo for "Curb Your Enthusiasm" season 9. Joining the superhero trend both in big and small screen, the video spoofs Batman though the lead character here is not as enthusiastic as Batman is.

"There is only one hero who never stays silent," says a narrator, as the video includes callbacks to past episodes such as "Respect Wood" and "Palestinian Chicken". The narrator continues, "Who fight against justice wherever he finds it. And the world needs him now, more than ever."

The scene then shows an image of Larry's face being projected into the night sky like bat signal. But the comedian refuses to get off his bed and ignores it. When his phone rings, he answers, "Turn the light off! I'm not going."

"Curb Your Enthusiasm" returns with the ninth season on Sunday, October 1 at 10 P.M. on HBO, after a 6-year hiatus. The highly-anticipated return of the comedy was recently spoiled with the leak of the new episodes by hackers, who claimed to have obtained 1.5 terabytes of data from HBO.

Also released as part of the leaks are an episode of "Insecure", episodes of shows such as "Ballers", the yet-to-be-premiered new shows "The Deuce" and "Barry", a comedy special and other programming.

JB Smoove, Jeff Garlin and Susie Essman also return for the new season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm", with Jimmy Kimmel, Elizabeth Banks, Bryan Cranston, Ed Begley Jr. and Carrie Brownstein set to make appearance.

Of why he decided to revive the comedy after six years, David said, "I'm not a misser. I don't really miss things, people that much, but I was missing it and I was missing these idiots so I thought, 'Yeah, what the hell?' " The "Seinfield" co-creator added, "And I got tired of people asking is the show coming back? I couldn't get asked that question anymore and I wasn't ready to say 'No, never.' "
