Kanye West Is Working on Secret Project With Ex-Protege Kid Cudi

After squashing their beef a few months ago, the 'Fade' spitter and his ex-protege are currently readying new music for the follow-up to 'The Life of Pablo'.

AceShowbiz - Kanye West has been working hard in the studio, and he could be releasing new music any day now. While the rapper remained tight-lipped about the upcoming effort, a new report has surfaced, claiming that he is currently cooking up a top secret project with his ex-protege Kid Cudi.

"They're going to drop some crazy collaboration out of the blue. They're going to drop some surprise project on everybody. They're recording it now," an insider told Page Six. "Nobody knows what it is--or what it sounds like... There are no professionals in the room. It's just Cudi, Kanye and an engineer. They're recording together in Japan."

The alleged collaboration is quite surprising as Kanye and Kid Cudi were said to be feuding last year. Back in September, Kid Cudi seemingly slammed Kanye and other artists in a series of tweets. "I need yall to know I got so many haters within the industry and these clows know Im bout to crush their entire existence," he wrote. "Everyone thinks they're soooo great. Talkin top 5 and be having 30 people write songs for them."

In response to the rapper's alleged diss, Kanye said, "I birthed you," while performing on "Saint Pablo Tour" stop in Tampa, Florida. He went on saying, "I'm so hurt. I feel disrespected. Kid Cudi, we're two black men in a racist world." The husband of Kim Kardashian tapped Cudi for his 2008 album "808's & Heartbreak" and signed him to his G.O.O.D. record label before Cudi exited in 2013.

However, the feud didn't last long. A few days after slamming Cudi, Kanye tried to squash their beef at a Houston show. "I just wanted to take time out to say Kid Cudi is my brother," he said, calling Cudi "the most influential artist of the past 10 years, and I hope he's doing well."

A source close to Kanye previously revealed that the feud "went away pretty quickly. It was likely something that was lingering, but not as serious as it seemed. Kanye's always airing out whatever he's thinking onstage, but they've always been close."
