AceShowbiz - Another "Avatar" star has been confirmed to return for all four sequels. According to a new report from Deadline, Matt Gerald has signed up for the upcoming sequels to James Cameron's 2009 movie, reprising his role as Corporal Lyle Wainfleet.

The character of Corporal Lyle Wainfleet actually died in the first "Avatar" movie. As of now, no information is available about how the character will return. Additionally, plot details of the upcoming are still kept under wraps.

Other returning cast members include lead stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana as well as Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Joel David Moore and CCH Pounder. They are joined by newcomers Cliff Curtis and Oona Chaplin.

The sequels will be helmed by Cameron. He co-wrote the script for the first sequel with Josh Friedman, for the second sequel with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, and for the third sequel with Shane Salerno. "Avatar 2" is expected to begin filming this fall for a release in U.S. theaters on December 18, 2020.

The additional three follow-ups are scheduled to be released on December 17, 2021, December 20, 2024, and December 19, 2025, respectively.
