'Deadpool 2': Cable Set Photos Fuel Speculation of Hope Summers' Appearance

A batch of photos from the Vancouver set that have surfaced online feature a hint at the inclusion of Cable's adopted child in the 'Deadpool' sequel.

AceShowbiz - Will Hope Summers appear in "Deadpool 2"? A batch of new set photos from Vancouver, Canada, where filming on the "Deadpool" sequel is currently taking place, have emerged online, and they add fuel to speculation that Cable's adoptive child will make an appearance in the upcoming movie.

Taken on Monday afternoon, August 7, the set photos show Josh Brolin as well as his stunt doubles dressed as Cable a.k.a. Nathan Summers and wore a cape or parka. It's remarkably similar to the one Cable wears in the comic arc featuring Hope.

Also offering another clue supporting the Hope Summers theory is one of the first-look pics of Cable that were recently shared by lead actor Ryan Reynolds. In the photo, Cable has a teddy bear attached to his waist.

This leads fans to draw the connection that the big-screen version of Cable will be functioning in the only patriarchal role he's known to play: protecting Hope Summers. She is the first mutant baby born after "The Decimation", an event where Scarlet Witch nearly wipes out the mutant population of Earth.

As plot details are still scarce, it remains to be seen if the powerful young mutant, named after her adoptive mom Hope who dies protecting her, will appear alongside Cable in the upcoming film. Another powerful mutant to be introduced in "Deadpool 2" is Domino, who is played by Zazie Beetz.

Directed by David Leitch from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writing duo behind the first film, the sequel is set for a June 1, 2018 release in the U.S. Aside from Ryan Reynolds, other returning cast members include Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller and Leslie Uggams.
