Artist of the Week: Louis Tomlinson
Music

The 25-year-old singer/songwriter is currently working on a debut solo album following his record deal with RCA a few months ago.

AceShowbiz - Since One Direction decided to go on hiatus last year, its members have embarked on successful solo careers. However, it took a while for Louis Tomlinson to work on solo music. He spent most of his time songwriting than hitting the studio before signing a record deal with RCA in June. "If you'd ask me a year or 18 months ago, 'Are you going to do anything as a solo artist?' I'd have said absolutely not," so he recently said.

He teamed up with Bebe Rexha for his debut solo single. Titled "Back to You", the track was produced by Digital Farm Animals and released on July 21. He recently dished on his upcoming debut album, saying that it would be lyrically inspired by Arctic Monkeys and Oasis.

"My whole mission with this album is to not write these Hollywood-esque songs that talk about some unfathomable crazy love story. I'm so bored of that," he said, before adding, "But I'm from up north, I grew up loving the likes of the Arctic Monkeys and Oasis. And the way they tell stories is such an effortless thing. It's real, it's honest and it's to the point."

In the meantime, the father-of-one is busy promoting "Back to You" in a series of interviews. He made the song's TV debut on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on August 4. Louis is also set to perform the track with Bebe at the upcoming Teen Choice Awards, which will air on August 13 on FOX.
