Is Ben Affleck Done Playing Batman? WB Reportedly Plans His Exit
Movie

The 44-year-old actor may not play the Caped Crusader anymore after 'Justice League' as the studio is reportedly planning his exit from the DC film franchise.

AceShowbiz - Ben Affleck's future as Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batmam seems to be in limbo as the actor is rumored to be done playing the Caped Crusader after "Justice League". The Hollywood Reporter is the first to report the bad news, saying that Warner Bros. is planning the 44-year-old actor's exit from the DC film franchise.

A source with knowledge of the situation has told the news outlet that the studio is currently working on a graceful way to transition Affleck's Caped Crusader out of the DCEU. This change in course will reportedly begin to take shape in one of the studio's upcoming DC movies, very likely "The Batman".

When and how Affleck's alleged departure from the DCEU will occur are not decided yet. But Warner Bros. Pictures Group chief Toby Emmerich has said that the studio wants to keep Affleck in the role because "Ben is our Batman. We love him as Batman. We want to keep him in the cowl as long as we can."

Additionally, Matt Reeves, who takes over the helming duties of "The Batman" from Affleck, has confirmed that the actor will remain in the role for his film. The helmer recently also revealed that his take on the upcoming DC movie would move away from the script Affleck and Geoff Johns penned, saying that it's "a new story" and "going to be really cool."

Fans can see Affleck's Batman in "Justice League" which opens in theaters across the nation on November 17. In "Justice League", fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's (Henry Cavill) selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists newfound ally Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) to face an even greater threat.

Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to recruit a team to stand against this newly awakened enemy. Despite the formation of an unprecedented league of heroes -- Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) -- it may be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
