John Bernecker suffers a serious head injury after falling more than 20 feet on the set of the AMC zombie series in Georgia.

AceShowbiz - A horrific accident happened on the set of "The Walking Dead" in Georgia on Wednesday, July 12. John Bernecker, a stuntman working for the AMC zombie series, was taken to an Atlanta hospital for suffering a serious head injury.

He is treated in intensive care at Atlanta Medical Center. He reportedly fell more than 20 feet onto a concrete floor. It's unclear if he was in the middle of shooting a scene when the accident happened. A rep for the show kept silent.

His girlfriend Jennifer Cocker wrote on Facebook following the accident, "John deserves to be seen by every neorusurgeon and doctor there is until one of them sees the life we all know he has in him and bring him back to us... THIS ISNT FAIR."

John Bernecker's credits include "24: Legacy", "Get Out", "The Fate of the Furious", and "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2".
