AceShowbiz - Austin Jones was arrested at Chicago's O'Hare Airport on Monday, June 12 on child pornography charges. The YouTube star, who has amassed over 500K subscribers for his acapella music covers, has been charged with two counts of production of child pornography.
Austin has been accused of using Facebook and iMessage to solicit sexually explicit videos from teenage girls, pressuring them to "prove" that they were his biggest fans. His alleged victims were around 14 years old.
According to Chicago Sun-Times which is first to report the news, Austin is currently being held in federal custody. The 24-year-old singer is expected to appear in court for a detention hearing this Wednesday.
Austin was arraigned on Tuesday, June 13, where federal prosecutors said they would oppose the release of the singer as he's a "risk to the community and there's a danger he'll flee." If convicted, Austin would face a minimum of 15-year prison sentence.
