The Emmy-nominated comedy, starring Ellie Kemper and Titus Burgess, has been given an early season 4 renewal on the streaming giant.

AceShowbiz - It is another early renewal for "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt". In less than a month after the release of the show's third season, Netflix has renewed the Ellie Kemper-starring comedy for a fourth season.

Kemper plays the titular character, a woman who is looking forward to restarting her life after she was kidnapped and held prisoner for years in a bunker by a deranged reverend. In season 3, Kimmy decided to attend college after obtaining her GED. Meanwhile, her roommate Titus Burgess' Titus Andromedon returned to New York and began lemonading after being convinced that his boyfriend has cheated on him.

Season 3 finale saw newly single Jacqueline (Jane Krakowski) starting her new career as a talent agent and Kimmy landing a huge job at a start-up. Titus was lemonading as his romance with Mikey (Mike Carlsen) was crumbling. Kimmy, however, was still married to the Reverend (Jon Hamm) to stop Wendy (Laura Dern) from marrying him.

Hailing from creators Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" has been nominated for 11 Emmy Awards for its first two seasons. Anna Camp, Josh Charles, David Cross, Amy Sedaris, Daveed Diggs and Tina herself are among the recurring guest stars.

Fey and Carlock executive produce the series alongside Jeff Richmond and David Miner. Universal Television, Little Stranger Inc., 3 Arts Entertainment and Bevel Gears produce the comedy for Netflix.
