Former MTV producer Van Toffler reveals Taylor and her mom 'were crying hysterically' and Beyonce 'was crying, too' after Kanye interrupted Taylor's speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

AceShowbiz - Working at MTV has left Van Toffler with an unforgettable experience. The 57-year-old, who is now the CEO of digital media production and distribution company Gunpowder & Sky, shares his favorite VMAs story in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter and it's the one when Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift's speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

"When Kanye walked up onstage with Taylor that year, it turned out that Taylor had to go onstage to do her song five minutes later. I ran out of the truck to see that everything was all right, and Taylor and her mom were crying hysterically," he recalls the emotional moment. "I'm not always wonderful with emotions. I didn't know what to say."

But that's not all, since he also had to deal with a crying Beyonce Knowles, whom Kanye was rooting for at the awards show. "Then I went backstage, and Beyonce was crying, too," he adds.

A selfless Beyonce later let Taylor finish her speech, but things have still been pretty rocky for Taylor and Kanye. They seemed to patch things up six years after the viral moment, before Kanye mentioned the country-turned-pop superstar in his racy song "Famous".

Kanye and Kim Kardashian accused Taylor of lying about not approving the song's lyrics. Kim recently revealed that they hadn't spoken with Taylor since then.
