The multi-talented rapper shocked fans during his New York show over the weekend as he hinted that his next album would be his last music project.

AceShowbiz - Will Donald Glover quit music soon? That was what the actor/rapper hinted during his set at Governor's Ball music festival on Saturday, June 3. Glover, whose stage name is Childish Gambino, closed his set with a shocking statement, hinting that his next album would be his last.

"Thank you. You're in my heart. I'll see you for the last Gambino album," Glover said out of nowhere before he dropped the mic and walked off stage, leaving fans in shock and disappointment.

His announcement might come as no surprise because back in 2015, he also hinted at his retirement from music. "I always wanna do music. I love music. And I wanna be putting out projects quietly everywhere, and I wanna produce. I guess Childish Gambino is a period in my art time," he said at that time. "I want to have periods in my life. I feel like Childish Gambino is a period that should come to a close. I like endings."

Glover has been performing as Gambino since 2008. He has released several EPs and three albums, including 2011's "Camp", 2013's Grammy-nominated "Because the Internet" and 2016's "Awaken, My Love!".

If Glover does leave music, he still has plenty of work in Hollywood as an actor. He has landed roles in "The Lion King" remake, "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and untitled stand-alone Star Wars Film II, which centers on Han Solo. He is also set to return for a second season of the Golden Globe-winning show "Atlanta" in 2018.
