AceShowbiz - CNN officially cuts ties with Kathy Griffin after she came under fire over her graphic photo shoot where she held a replica of Donald Trump's severed head. The comedienne/TV personality will no longer co-host CNN's New Year's Eve coverage with Anderson Cooper.
"CNN has terminated our agreement with Kathy Griffin to appear on our New Year's Eve program," the network said. Cooper was not impressed with her antics either. "For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate," he tweeted.

Griffin was slammed by Donald Trump Jr. and his sister Melania Trump. The President also called her out on Twitter, "Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself. My children, especially my 11 year old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick!"
Backlash also came from Hillary Clinton's daughter Chelsea Clinton and the Democrat supporter Debra Messing. "It wasn't right when peoplel [sic] hung lynched Obama effigies, just as what Kathy Griffin did isn't right now," Messing wrote on Twitter.
Griffin initially defended the photo shoot, saying that she didn't "condone ANY violence by my fans or others to anyone" but was "merely mocking the Mocker in Chief." She later backtracked and said, "I sincerely apologize. I went way too far. The image is too disturbing. I understand how it offends people, it wasn't funny, I get it."
The NYE coverage was not the only gig she lost due to the controversial photo. An ad featuring her for Squatty Potty has also been suspended "to demonstrate our commitment to a culture of decency, civility, and tolerance" because the bloody picture "was deeply inappropriate and runs contrary to the core values our company stands for."
Rumor has it, the Secret Service is now launching an investigation into "the circumstances surrounding the photo shoot."
