The comedian was actually born Eric Marlon Bishop, but apparently his fans didn't know that and got stunned after learning the truth. It turns out that Jamie Foxx is a stage name which is inspired by comedy legend Redd Foxx.
The buzzing started when a Twitter user posted a screenshot from Google, which showed Jamie's real name. "Yo, am I the only one who thought Jamie Foxx real name was Jamie Foxx?" the user wrote. Other Twitter users expressed their surprises over the revelation by making hilarious responses as well as posting funny memes. The tweet has since been retweeted more than 37,000 times and favorited more than 62,000 times.

However, it seems like not everyone was in the dark about Jamie's real name. A user wrote, "I must have been the only person in the world that knew Jamie Foxx's real name was Eric Bishop. I even know why he chose the name Jamie."
Currently, Jamie is reportedly having a relationship with actress Katie Holmes, although he keeps denying the rumors. The two were spotted leaving the same hotel and boarding the same private jet in Paris earlier this month.
