The 'Chained to the Rhythm' hitmaker has shared a spooky artwork of her new album which features an eyeball in her mouth.
Just days after announcing her fifth studio album "Witness", Katy Perry has now revealed the official cover art of the upcoming project. The bizarre artwork sees naked Katy covering her eyes with her hands. Her red lips part as an eyeball peeks through her mouth. The cover art may give you goosebumps as some people see it as an Illuminati reference.
Katy seems to have certain fondness of eyeball nowadays. Prior to the release of the artwork, she shared a teaser of new song called "Witness" along with an image of one eye. She also put the same image on a big billboard in Time Square to promote it.
Another eyeball reference appeared following the announcement of her "Witness: The Tour". Katy asked her Instagram followers to sign up to her official website with a clip which features a series of one-eye images.
The horror wasn't stopping there. The 32-year-old singer's music video for her collaborative track with Migos, "Bon Appetit", was given mixed reviews due to its bizarre and horrific content. The clip features Katy literally being treated like a piece of meat.
"Right now, I think you're just seeing parts of the body of work and that part is kind of like the sexually empowered and liberated part," Katy previously said of the upcoming album on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show". "So 'Chained to the Rhythm' was kind of like the mental, political liberation and ['Bon Appetit'] is kind of like that sexual liberation because I'm now embracing my 30s, which I think is so bomb dot com, I love it so much. I love being a woman and I love a consensual interaction. There is nothing wrong with that. We're all animals."
