The winner of the 'Idol' first season allegedly becomes ABC's first choice to sit on the judge panel of the revived singing competition.

AceShowbiz - Kelly Clarkson is reportedly eying one of the seats on the judge panel of the new "American Idol". According to TMZ, ABC which becomes a new home for the singing competition shows "serious interest" to sign her on. Her team allegedly starts working to clear her schedule for filming.
While the old "Idol" which ran on FOX for 15 seasons from 2002 to 2016 went from city to city for auditions, the upcoming revival is rumored to stay in one location. It's less expensive and much easier to shoot. Disney World and possibly Disneyland are considered to be the "Idol" home base.
Kelly Clarkson is the winner of the first season of "Idol". The show is expected to return in 2018 and promised to be "bigger, bolder and better than ever." The original "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest who now co-hosts an ABC talk show with Kelly Ripa confirmed talks to return to the singing competition.
