Two singers had to pack their stuff and went home after the double eliminations on that night's episode, while the rest 8 artists have to prepare their best for next week's semifinals.

AceShowbiz - "The Voice" revealed the 8 semifinalists for its current season 12 on Tuesday, May 9. During the double eliminations, two artists went home after battling for high-stakes Instant Save. That evening's episode also featured musical entertainments from Maren Morris and Charlie Puth.

Country singer Maren opened that night's episode by performing her single "I Could Use a Love Song". After she concluded her marvelous performance, host Carson Daly announced the first two artists who would advance to next week's semifinals. America saved Aliyah Moulden (Team Blake Shelton) and Chris Blue (Team Alicia Keys), who held the 21st and 22nd spots on the iTunes charts respectively with last Monday's performances.

Joining Aliyah and Chris in Top 8 were Lauren Duski (Team Blake) and Hunter Plake (Team Gwen Stefani). The two singers successfully broke into the top 10 on the iTunes charts this week.

Carson later announced that Brennley Brown (Team Gwen) and Jesse Larson (Team Adam Levine) were advancing to the semifinals. It meant that both Gwen's two remaining artists survived this week's double eliminations. Before the last saved artist was announced, Charlie took the stage to introduce his new single, titled "Attention".

Now it was time to reveal the last singer whom America saved. Carson announced that TSoul (Team Blake) joined the Top 8, leaving Lilli Passero (Team Adam), Mark Isaiah (Team Adam) and Vanessa Ferguson (Team Alicia) to fight for the last Top 8 spot in Instant Save.

Lilli was up first, singing "Stormy Weather" by Etta James. Lilli was able to strike a balance between classic and current as she put a clever twist on the song. Mark followed it up with a cover of Justin Bieber's "Sorry". Mark, who was in the same position last week and the week before, delivered a solid performance.

Vanessa, meanwhile, performed "For Once in My Life" by Stevie Wonder for her Instant Save performance. Many people might agree that Vanessa was the most versatile artist among the three. Once Vanessa finished her performance, Carson went up to the stage to reveal the result. The host then announced that America instantly saved Vanessa as she won the live vote on Twitter. Adam had to lose his two artists as Mark and Lilli were eliminated that night. However, the coach still had Jesse to represent his team in the competition.
