Selena's mom Mandy Teefey sends love to the couple by commenting on The Weeknd's Instagram post, saying that she is happy with their relationship.

AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez and Abel Tesfaye a.k.a. The Weeknd have earned an approval from Selena's mother, Mandy Teefey. She commented on a photo of her daughter and the "I Feel It Coming" hitmaker that Abel posted on Instagram on Monday, May 1.
Selena and Abel made their relationship red carpet official as they attended the Met Gala as a couple. Abel took to Instagram to share a photo taken during the event. Mandy commented on the photo, writing, "Glowing, smiling, looking health and equal love. Mama is happy XO."

Her message was very sweet, but it attracted haters to bash the couple. Mandy later posted a lengthy message on Instagram, telling haters to stop saying nonsense. "@selenagomez @theweeknd enjoy the ball... yes, I am happy my daughter is happy. Turning off comments because they are vile and I was so unaware how many people know these people personally. My page is not for hate, name calling and uneducated opinions. XO," she wrote in the caption.
Selena and Abel started dating earlier this year following Abel's split from Bella Hadid last November. It was reported that Mandy wasn't impressed with the 27-year-old singer. "Mandy has met Abel and thinks he is respectful in person, but she doesn't think he's a good influence on Selena," a source revealed, before adding that she didn't approve Abel's "dirty and drug-related lyrics."
