AceShowbiz - It seems like Elektra (Elodie Yung) is far from done. "Marvel's The Defenders" has just released a new teaser, hinting at the return of the sai-wielding anti-heroine.
The 14-second teaser sees the stone coffin which was last seen on "Daredevil" season 2, when the Hand placed Elektra's lifeless body in it. A Hand member can also be seen draining blood on to the coffin which seemingly is used to resurrect Elektra. The brief teaser concludes right after the coffin slightly cracks open, leaving a mystery of how exactly Elektra will be involved in the Hand's plan.

The return of Elektra on the upcoming Netflix series sparks curiosity among fans, considering the character was killed in the season 2 finale of "Daredevil". The official Twitter account of the series answers a curious fan's question about how it is possible for Matt Murdock's former flame to return. The eight-episode series follows Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Iron Fist (Finn Jones) and Luke Cage (Mike Colter). The quartet will team up with one common goal-to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.
Marco Ramizer serves as showrunner and executive producer for the series along with Drew Goddard, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. "Marvel's Jessica Jones" director S.J. Clarkson is set to helm the first two episodes of the series.
"Marvel's The Defenders" will premiere on Friday, August 18 on Netflix.
