New sneak peeks for the upcoming episode 15 of season 3 hint at the appearance of Batman's nemesis Ra's al Ghul who promises the rise of 'a dark hero.'

AceShowbiz - "Gotham" season 3 has revealed new sneak peeks of the upcoming episode 15 before the show returns next week. The sneak peeks of the spring premiere of FOX's series are packed with Easter eggs from the original movies. They also offer a glimpse of what's to come in the final episodes of season 3.

The first sneak peek, titled "The City Will Be Torn Apart", highlights Batman's foes The Riddle and Ra's al Ghul. Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) is poised to embrace his inner Riddle in the upcoming new episodes. He can be seen angrily saying, "Who controls Gotham!" A scene where he throws Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) in what looks like a river is also featured in the promo.

The promo also features an unseen man, presumably Ra's al Ghul (Alexander Siddig), telling someone who looks like Bruce Wayne's (David Mazouz) evil doppelganger, "Everything I have done has been to prepare for this moment. This city will be torn apart." Still with his eerie voice, the man continues, "Out of the ashes, a dark hero will rise." Bruce later can be heard saying, "If this is my destiny, I do not want to fail."

An interesting scene is also glimpsed in the promo. Selina Kyle (Cameron Bicondova) is seen lying on the ground as a horde of cats come to surround her. Fans assume that the scene is a reference to a shot from 1992's "Batman Returns" when Selina Kyle in the movie (Michelle Pfeiffer) is thrown from a window and later is resurrected by some sandpaper cat licks. Whether Selina will soon move towards her destiny as Catwoman remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, fake Bruce Wayne is seen recalling how his parents died. "We'd gone to the movies. My father wanted to cut through the alley to get an uptown cab. The man came out of nowhere. His face was covered, he had a gun," he says. Soon, it is revealed that he has been telling the story to an old lady. "I remember how cold it was. I heard a cat. He shot them both and I did-I did nothing," the doppelganger continues. "Excellent, my dear. You truly are Bruce Wayne," the old lady responds. Upon hearing her remarks, fake Bruce Wayne sports an evil grin on his face. The clip ends with the arrival of James Gordon (Benjamin McKenzie).

The official synopsis of the upcoming episode 15, titled "How The Riddler Got his Name", reads, "Nygma convinces himself that he doesn't need Penguin to succeed and begins to introduce himself to Gotham as 'The Riddler'. Bullock and Lucius Fox get caught up in Nygma's mind games, while Gordon learns troubling news about his father's death. Meanwhile, the Court of the Owls reveals its next move."

Also starring on the series are Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, Michael Chiklis as Detective Nathaniel Barnes, Sean Pertwee as Alfred, Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox, and Jamie Chung as Valerie Vale.

"Gotham" returns with new episodes on Monday, April 24 at 8 P.M. on FOX.
