The 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' executive producer affirms that there is no current plan for a crossover with 'Marvel's The Inhumans' as the latter 'will have its own world.'

AceShowbiz - Since "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." has introduced the concept of Inhumans to audiences, fans wonder if a crossover with upcoming "Marvel's The Inhumans" will be happening anytime soon. However, the executive producer of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.", Jed Whedon, cast a doubt on the crossover possibility.

"Without being able to say anything really about that show, it will have its own world, just as we tried to start our own world," Whedon spoke of "Marvel's The Inhumans" in a statement. He further added, "Whether or not there's a crossover, we will see."

Whedon later explained that while it would be great to see "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." exploring its connection to Marvel Cinematic Universe, he preferred to have the series to be viewed on its own. "Everything is connected, and that's fun to play with. But the point of our show is to be our show, and we want our fans to be rewarded for watching it without having to watch everything else," Whedon said.

"But we also want there to be a bigger reward for people who watch all of them, so that they'll start to see that there's lines connecting it. It's more fun for people who are playing the whole game, but if you don't, you'll still have a great roller coaster ride," the EP continued.

However, the door to the crossover is not completely closed. ABC president Channing Dungey previously revealed that she hoped to see "S.H.I.E.L.D." continue airing alongside "Inhumans".

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4 airs on Tuesdays at 10 P.M. on ABC, while "Marvel's The Inhumans" is currently filming in Hawaii.
