Shared by director Zack Snyder, the photo features Cavill wearing a replica of Christopher Reeve's Superman costume during Cavill's audition to play the superhero in 'Man of Steel'.

AceShowbiz - Director Zack Snyder has taken to his Vero account to share a photo of Henry Cavill wearing a replica of Christopher Reeve's Superman costume. The photo, which sees Cavill during his audition to play Superman in "Man of Steel", is later captured and shared by fans via Twitter. "First test with Henry...I knew right away he was my Superman," writes Snyder in the caption.

Back in 2016, Snyder told Dejour about Cavill's audition and how the costume really fit on him. "We didn't have the suit made when Henry was auditioning, so he wore the original Christopher Reeve suit," said Snyder. "He put it on and when he came out of the trailer, everyone was like, 'Dang, you're Superman!' " he added.

In an interview with Total Film in 2011, Cavill talked about what it was like when he put on this costume for the first time. "It's extremely cool. There's no other feeling like it," he said. "They just put it on, I turned around and looked in the mirror and you can't really play it cool-you sort of guffaw and laugh. I thought 'OK, holy hell, this is real, it’s not a joke anymore. This is it...you're doing it, you’re right in the middle of it,' " he added.

Cavill will reprise his role as Superman in upcoming "Justice League" and "Man of Steel 2". "Justice League" will also feature Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko.

The superhero team-up movie is scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters on November 17.
