AceShowbiz - Drake apparently still can't forget his ex-girlfriend, Serena Williams. The "Hotline Bling" hitmaker throws shade at his tennis pro ex on a single titled "Nothings Into Somethings". Through the powerful lyrics, Drake expresses his disappointment over Serena's engagement to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.
Previously, it was rumored that Drake was happy for Serena's engagement. A source said, "Drake couldn't be happier that Serena is taking her relationship to the next level by getting married." However, the release of the diss track shuts down all those rumors. It looks like the Canadian rapper was hurt more than we thought after the split back in 2015.
The savage lyrics reveal that Serena didn't tell Drake about the engagement. He raps on the first verse, "Big cup of Ac', I'm drowsy/ I'm still posted up where you first found me/ Did I just read that you just got engaged on me?/ I heard from your friend, you couldn't even tell me?/ Or better yet, wait on me."
He was apparently not invited to the engagement, rapping on the second verse, "Least, do I get an invitation or something?/ A statement or something?/ Ask about that, you would say it was nothing/ But here's another nothing that you made into something/ Can't just leave it off that way."
Drake and Serena were a hot item in 2015. After the split in the same year, Drake seemed to have moved on with his brief flame, Jennifer Lopez, while Serena found new love with her fiance Alexis Ohanian. Alexis proposed to Serena in December 2016 during their romantic vacation in Rome. Meanwhile, Drake has since been reported together with several women.
"Nothings Into Somethings" is a single off Drake's latest album, "More Life", which was released on March 18. The song title sparks speculations that Drake throws shade at Alexis as his Reddit username is Kn0thing.
