The 40-year-old actress has said that she and the Canadian actor, who co-starred in 1996's 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch', enjoyed a momentary fling as they were besotted with each other at the time.

AceShowbiz - Melissa Joan Hart and Ryan Reynolds could have been one of Hollywood power couples in the mid-'90s. In an interview with Australian morning show "Studio 10", the 40-year-old actress revealed that she almost dated the Canadian actor, who was her co-star in "Sabrina the Teenage Witch".

Melissa, who played the titular character on the 1996 TV movie, said she and Ryan enjoyed a momentary fling as they were besotted with each other at the time. "We were smitten and cute," she said during the Thursday, March 30 episode of the talk show. "He was adorable. He was a really nice guy."

Melissa recalled a different Ryan than the one "Deadpool" fans admire now, as they were just 19 when they're filming the Archie comics adaptation. "He wasn't like, the Ryan Reynolds everybody knows these days," she said, after a clip of the '90s TV series was played. "You can see in the clip the crazy hair. He was sweet - he was very sweet."

But Melissa said she had a boyfriend at the time. She went on saying that "The Croods" voice actor "probably would have been a great boyfriend. And I didn't end up with the other guy, so maybe I should have taken a chance!"

Both Melissa and Ryan are in happy relationships now. Melissa has been married to musician Mark Wilkerson since 2003. They share three sons together. Ryan, meanwhile, has been married to actress Blake Lively since 2012. They have two daughters, one born in December 2014, while the other in September 2016.
