Shared by producer Lauren Shuler Donner, the behind-the-scenes photo sees Amy Acker's character Caitlin sitting in the passenger seat of a car.

AceShowbiz - FOX's upcoming X-Men series pilot, "The Gifted", has kicked off its production and producer Lauren Shuler Donner takes to social media to share the first behind-the-scenes photo. Although it doesn't reveal much, the photo features one of the Bryan Singer-directed pilot's characters, Caitlin Stewart.

" 'The Gifted' night shooting. Bryan Singer directing, Amy Acker acting," wrote Donner on her Twitter account on Wednesday, March 22. Amy, who plays Caitlin, sits in the passenger seat of car. She is seemingly talking to someone in the driver's seat.

Caitlin is described as a woman who must come to terms with the fact that her children are mutants while struggling with her separation from her husband, Reed (Stephen Moyer). They are later forced to go on the run from hostile government and join an underground network of mutant fugitives to fight to survive.

Earlier this month, Donner took to Twitter to hint that the pilot presumably was tentatively titled "Gifted". However, the new photo from the Dallas set has confirmed that the pilot is titled "The Gifted" instead.

Created by Matt Nix, the "X-Men" spin-off will follow ordinary parents, Amy and Stephen, who discover their children possess mutant powers. Natalie Alyn Lind will play a character named Lauren, one of Amy and Stephen's kids and presumably a mutant.

"The Gifted" will also star Percy Hynes White, Emma Dumont, Sean Teale, Blair Redford and Jamie Chung. Percy is tapped to play Andy, a sensitive kid and bit of a loner, who keeps to himself to avoid the turmoil he faces at school and at home. Jamie will portray a mutant Blink while Emma will take on the role of Lorna Dane/Polaris, a strong-willed, brave and loyal mutant who has the ability to manipulate magnetism.

Sean is cast as Marcos Diaz, who will take a mantle of Eclipse, a newly created mutant whose ability is to absorb and manipulate photons. Blair was recently confirmed to play Thunderbird.

Along with Donner and Nix, Simon Kinberg and Marvel TV's Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory will serve as executive producers.
