Adam Cozad is reportedly in talks with Warner Brothers to write the script for the upcoming 'Suicide Squad' sequel.

AceShowbiz - While the search for director is still ongoing, "Suicide Squad 2" is close to landing a writer. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Adam Cozad ("The Legend of Tarzan") is in negotiations to pen the script for the "Suicide Squad" sequel.

The first film was directed and written by David Ayer. Instead of returning for the second installment, Ayer is now moving on to the all-female DC villain movie "Gotham City Sirens" which is expected to see Margot Robbie reprising her role as Harley Quinn.

Fresh off his critically-acclaimed directorial movie "Hacksaw Ridge", Mel Gibson is rumored to take over the helming duty for the second "Suicide Squad" movie. If he passes the project, Warner Brothers has Jonathan Levine ("The Night Before"), Ruben Fleischer ("Zombieland"), and Daniel Espinosa ("Life") lined up to vie for the spot.
