The 83-year-old singer is reportedly so ill that he can't muster the breath to sing.

AceShowbiz - Is Willie Nelson okay? Rumor has it, the 83-year-old singer is so ill that he can't muster the breath to sing. He was recently forced to cancel two upcoming shows at a glitzy Venetian resort in Las Vegas, according to a source.

According to the source, Willie is as weak as a baby as he has been ravaged by emphysema and pneumonia in recent years. "Willie's been so frail and gaunt... a pale shadow of the man he used to be," says the source.

The source tells Radar Online, "He's never fully recovered from the last time when he was deathly ill, more than a year ago. It's now come back to hit him like a ton of bricks. If he can't get a deep breath in and his voice is a croak - there's no way he can sing."

Willie is reportedly also savaging his health by stuffing his face with junk food, munching "on potato chips, pretzels and popcorn."

Representatives for Willie apologized for the cancelation of his shows "due to recent illness," adding that the shows would not "be rescheduled."

Willie responds to death reports with his new song "Delete and Fast Forward and Still Not Dead" from his upcoming album "God's Problem Child" which is due in April. "But he knows one of these days those reports going to be right," adds the source. "He's at death's door and has got to know it. But he's going out his way, like the warrior he's always been!"
