Coby Bell joins the cast of the Marvel action-adventure pilot as a weathered man who quietly wrestles with the moral ambiguities of his job.

AceShowbiz - FOX "X-Men"-themed pilot has just added another actor to its growing cast. The latest addition is Coby Bell, whom TV viewers may remember as Jesse Porter on USA Network's "Burn Notice". The 41-year-old actor's other memorable roles also include professional football player Jason Pitts on The CW/BET's comedy-drama "The Game" and NYPD officer Tyrone Davis, Jr. on NBC's "Third Watch".

In the untitled Marvel action-adventure pilot, Bell will play Jace Turner, a weathered man who quietly wrestles with the moral ambiguities of a job that regularly requires cold-blooded, calculating efficiency on a day-to-day basis, according to Deadline.

Bell joins Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker who landed lead roles in the pilot. The show follows two ordinary parents (Acker and Moyer) who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.

"Gotham" actress Natalie Alyn Lind will play one of their kids. Other stars cast for the pilot include Jamie Chung as a mutant named Blink, Emma Dumont as Polaris (a strong-willed, brave and loyal mutant who has the ability to manipulate magnetism), Percy Hynes White as Andy (a sensitive kid and bit of a loner who keeps to himself to avoid the turmoil he faces at school and at home), Blair Redford as Sam (a strong-headed Native American leader of the underground network) and Sean Teale as Marcos Diaz (a newly created mutant whose ability is to absorb and manipulate photons).

Bryan Singer will direct the pilot, which script is written by Matt Nix. Nix, Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory executive produce the project.
