The 48-year-old singer is responding to a lawsuit launched by his former employee who filed a lawsuit against him after losing a finger on the job.

AceShowbiz - Marc Anthony is firing back after his former employee launched a lawsuit against him. Jean-Pierre Perret, who was a member of the crew on Marc's yacht, claims he lost a finger back in 2015, while trying to fix a broken anchor on the ship.

In his suit, Jean-Pierre alleges Marc was negligent and failed to maintain adequate machinery. The 48-year-old singer was also slow to respond to the issue. The injury led to "mental suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, physical disability and impairment, disfigurement, lost wages and future income," the suit states.

Marc, however, denies Jean-Pierre's allegation against him. The singer insists that the man was never employed by him personally, and wasn't even supposed to be messing around with the anchor in the first place.

"(The) Defendants allege Plaintiff was not instructed or directed to handle the anchor at the time," reads Marc's court papers, obtained by Radar Online, "Nor was his attendance to the anchor done of necessity. Nonetheless, Plaintiff attempted to utilize the anchor in an unsafe manor."

Marc not only blames Jean-Pierre's own negligence for causing the injuries, but he also accuses his former employee of not seeking medical treatment quickly following the incident. The "Vivir Mi Vida" singer wants the entire case to be thrown out of court.
