Those who receive cassette tapes from Hannah Baker, who recently died by suicide, can't seem to be at peace after listening to what she said.

AceShowbiz - After teased in a mysterious promo shared by Selena Gomez, Netflix's adaptation of Jay Asher's novel "13 Reasons Why" is previewed in an official trailer. It opens with a prom night scene which features Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) dancing with Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette).

The sweet moment soon turns somber as a pair, who appear to be parents, are grieving. Things start to get harrowing as some teenagers receive cassette tapes from Hannah Baker, who recently died by suicide, and it appears that each of them has a dark secret that drove Hannah to commit suicide.

Based on the best-selling books by Jay Asher, the Netflix original series follows Clay Jensen as he returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker-his classmate and crush-who tragically committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Will Clay be one of them?

The series also stars Brandon Flynn as Justin, Miles Heizer as Alex, Alisha Boe as Jessica, Devin Druid as Tyler, Michele Selene Ang as Courtney, Ross Butler as Zach, Christian Navarro as Tony, Justin Prentice as Bryce, Kate Walsh as Mrs. Baker and Derek Luke as Mr. Potter.

"13 Reasons Why" comes from executive producers Tom McCarthy, Brian Yorkey, Selena Gomez, Joy Gorman and Kristel Laiblin. Gomez previously called the show her "passion project." The 13-episode drama series launches globally on March 31.
