As Gwen returns as the coach, the singing competition kicks off its new season where 16-year-old Anatalia Villarand gets a four-chair turn, joining other 8 contestants who proceed to the next round.

AceShowbiz - "The Voice" is back with its 12nd season on Monday, February 27. The premiere saw the return of Gwen Stefani as the coach, alongside Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Gwen's boyfriend Blake Shelton, after two seasons off and was replaced by Miley Cyrus. The first episode opened with the coaches' friendly rivalry to win the first contestant in the blind auditions, J. Chosen.

J. Chosen, born Josh Hunter, was the one whose performance blew the coaches' mind in the recent clip released by NBC. The Atlanta native took the stage and sang Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing". The special-education teacher didn't even finish the first two lines when Adam turned his chair, completely awed by his voice. Other three coaches immediately followed Adam to turn their chairs.

After Chosen finished his performance, Adam walked to the stage and gave him a hug. The four coaches began showering him with praises and lured him to join their team. Gwen was the first coach to get a contestant in her team as Chosen felt she would give him the diversity of tone and melody he needed.

Michigan native Lauren Duski, 25, was up next, singing a slowed-down version of "You Were Meant For Me" by Jewel Kilcher. Despite her family's zero interest in music, 9-nine-year old Lauren started traveling around with a country band. Withing 5 seconds, Adam once again was the first coach to turn his chair, followed by Blake and Gwen. Since Lauren saw herself as a country artist, she picked Blake as her coach.

A familiar face from season 11, Johnny Hayes of Alabama, sang Otis Redding's "Try a Little Tenderness". He apparently took the advice he got from the previous season and succeeded to make Adam and Gwen press their buttons. While the other two coaches didn't turn their chairs, Adam swayed to the song as Johnny nailed it. Johnny went to Adam's team.

Full-time police officer Skyler Harris took the stage to perform Adele's "One and Only". Although she claimed that music was a huge part of her life, her performance was not enough to make any of the coaches turn around. Blake encouraged her to come back.

The next contestant was 16-year-old Anatalia Villaranda, who loves to sing karaoke with her family. The petite girl performed "Runaway Baby" by Bruno Mars and brought her energy to the stage that night. She got a four-chair turn when she was almost done with her song. Although Adam and Blake showed their excitement to be her coach, Anatalia picked Alicia.

Stephanie Rice, 27, from Texast impressed Blake who turned before she finished her first line. She sang "Piece by Piece" by Kelly Clarkson so beautifully, much to Gwen's liking as she pressed her button. Stephanie picked Gwen as her coach, joining Chosen in Team Gwen.

Branden Martin was on stage performing country song "Here's A Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)" by Travis Tritt and played guitar, hoping a turn from Blake. Unfortunately, he didn't have what the coaches were looking for. No one turned for him.

Mark Isaiah came to the show to perform Shawn Mendes's "Mercy" and got Adam and Gwen to turn. Mark, who won a Justin Bieber contest as a young boy, picked Adam over Gwen to be his coach.

Brennley Brown, 14, barely managed to participate on the show. She took the stage to perform Keith Urban's "Stupid Boy". Blake and Alicia pressed their buttons at the very last second of her performance. Just as expected, Brennley joined Team Blake.

Shaun Chrisjohn performed "You Are the Best Thing". He said that he temporarily set aside his musical pursuits to take care of his grandmother. It was a solid performance, but he unfortunately didn't get any turns.

Registered nurse Felicia Temple concluded the blind auditions that night. She almost ended her singing career when she was diagnosed with cancer last year. Now, she's back and sang "All I Could Do Was Cry" by Etta James. Felicia's performance got Gwen, Blake and Alicia to turn around. Felicia had an impromptu duet with Alicia, singing Alicia's hit "Fallin' ". Felicia, who was nicknamed Felicia Keys, not surprisingly went to Team Alicia.
