AceShowbiz - Netflix has released the first trailer for its upcoming movie "Burning Sands". The nearly-three-minute video sees a group of young men, who are going through violent hazing practices as they try to join a highly coveted fraternity at a fictional Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

"It's all about the brotherhood. After pledging any means range from what you think," says Zurich (Trevor Jackson) in the trailer. Meanwhile, Dean Richardson (Steve Harris) tells Zurich, "You are in a good hands of generations of tradition and honorable brothers."

When Zurich seemingly tells Dean Richardson that he's tired of the humiliation, the dean responds, "You are merely facing what other men have met!" The trailer then features Zurich and other students chanting something which apparently is the slogan of the fraternity.

The official synopsis for the movie reads, " 'Burning Sands' takes you on a raw, voyeuristic journey of fraternity pledging through the eyes of one favored pledgee, who is torn between honoring a code of silence or standing up against the intensifying violence of underground hazing." Directed by Gerard McMurray, the movie features an emotional honesty to the classic tale of "rites of passage" and the complicated bonds of brotherhood.

Penned by Christine Berg and Gerard McMurray, "Burning Sands" also stars Alfre Woodard, Tosin Cole, DeRon Horton, Serayah and Trevante Rhodes. The film is produced by Stephanie Allain, Jason Michael Berman, Reginald Hudlin and Mel Jones. Meanwhile, Caroline Connor and Common executive produce the movie.

"Burning Sands" is set to be released on March 10 on Netflix.
