Duhamel, Simpson and Woodbine will portray detectives who are all integral part of the cases surrounding the highly-publicized murders of Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls.

AceShowbiz - USA Network has tapped lead actors for its "Unsolved" pilot, which is based on the murder investigations of Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls a.k.a. Notorious B.I.G.. Josh Duhamel ("11.22.63"), Jimmi Simpson ("Westworld") and Bokeem Woodbine ("Fargo") will star as Detective Greg Kading, Detective Russell Poole and Officer Daryn Dupree respectively.

"Unsolved" is based on the experiences of former LAPD Detective Kading, who is also the author of the book "Murder Rap: The Untold Story of Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations". In 2016, Kading was asked to help spearhead a multi-agency task force with the sole purpose of finding out who was responsible for the murder of Smalls.

Detective Poole is the man who investigated Smalls' murder in 1997. He became convinced that the LAPD was covering something up, and his findings eventually led Smalls' mother, Voletta Wallace, to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the department. Meanwhile, Officer Dupree is the man who became a key member of the task force, one with a deep knowledge of both Los Angeles gangs and the rap industry in 2006.

Hailed from Universal Cable Productions, "Unsolved" will be directed by Anthony Hemingway. He will executive produce the pilot alongside Mark Taylor and Kyle Long, who will also pen the script. Meanwhile, Kading will serve as co-writer and co-executive producer for the project.
