The 'Firework' hitmaker will likely perform a new single titled 'Chained to the Rhythm' featuring Skip Marley from her upcoming untitled fifth album.

AceShowbiz - Katy Perry is the latest act lined up for the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. The Recording Academy announced on Twitter on Monday night, February 6 that Perry would perform at the award-giving ceremony, which is set to take place on Sunday, February 12.

"CONFIRMED: @katyperry returns to the #GRAMMYs stage. Don't miss her performance on Music's Biggest Night Feb. 12 on @CBS!" so the Academy tweeted along with a picture of blonde Perry. The "Roar" hitmaker then confirmed the news by retweeting the announcement with a raised hand emoji.

In a now-deleted statement by Billboard, the site claims that Perry will be performing a new track titled "Chained to the Rhythm" from her upcoming untitled fifth album. Teaming up with Bob Marley's grandson Skip Marley, Perry will reportedly release the song on Friday, February 10.

Perry's fans went into frenzy following the rumor that the singer's about to release her new single. "Oh okay at Katy with the soft launch of her new era. Giving me 'Joanne' tho. Still a fan," a fan wrote. Another fan commented, "@ira @katyperry i think the new blonde promo photo (that she also updated her social profiles with) is a sign that it'll be a new single+era."

The singer only added fuel to the speculation as on the same day of her Grammy announcement, Perry's Twitter account received a total revamp with a bubblegum pink and sky blue color palette dominating the page. The account's profile picture was also changed with a photo of Perry sporting blonde hair.

Perry, who has 13 Grammy nominations so far, hasn't released any new album yet since 2013's "Prism". Earlier this year, the singer was reportedly working with Chance the Rapper on a new song titled "Witness", which could possibly land on her upcoming album. Perry's long-awaited album is reportedly titled "Etheral" and it allegedly features 12 songs, including "Velvet", "Girls Don't Cry", "Fierce" and more.
