AceShowbiz - Missy Elliott makes surprise return with fresh music. The iconic rapper released new song "I'm Better" featuring producer Lamb on late Thursday, January 26. Missy also unveiled the track's accompanying video, which was co-directed by Dave Meyers and herself.
The futuristic clip sets off with Lamb rapping his verse in front of dancers, who don white wigs. He raps, "It's another day, another chance/ I wake up, I wanna dance/ So as long as I got my friends/ I'm better, I'm better, I'm better," before Missy raps her verse, "He say I'm hot, I'm so fuego/ Pull up on him in my vehicle/ He say I'm pretty, I'm pretty/ You must be from Brazil, it must be from Me-hico."
There is also underwater scene where Missy and a group of dancers show off some bonkers dance moves. The clip gets even flashier as it features some white and red laser effects while the Grammy Award-winning rapper dances in a swimming pool.
In addition to the new video, Missy shared a trailer for her upcoming documentary. "It's never just a record for me," Missy says in the footage from the documentary. "It's never just making a hot record. I can do that in my sleep. But visually I have to see what I'm going to do with that record when I perform it."
The trailer also features some comments and admiration from her friends and fellow musicians. "She came out and just completely blew people away," Pharrell Williams said. The documentary is set for release later this year.
While there is still no word on her long-awaited new album, Missy has been tapped as a guest star in an upcoming episode of FOX's "Star", which is directed by Lee Daniels and Tom Donaghy. She will portray a producer/recording artist in the Queen Latifah-starring show.
