Earlier this month, The Sun reported that the singers thrashed a five-star hotel room in London to film the video. A source told the news outlet that Malik "trashed the hotel room to bits, ripping apart pillows and smashing a lamp up against the wall," while Swift "lit the curtains on fire for her part." The source also claimed that "all the scenes were carefully planned."

"I Don't Wanna Live Forever", which was written by Jack Antonoff and Sam Dew along with Swift, is featured on "Fifty Shades Darker" soundtrack, which also features Halsey's "Not Afraid Anymore" as well as contributions from Tove Lo, Nicki Minaj, Sia Furler, Nick Jonas and more. The album will be released on February 10, on the same day the film arrives.
