Mimi turns her split from ex-fiance James Packer into a breakup song featuring the rapper and hopes the track 'will be an anthem for women overcoming harsh breakups.'

AceShowbiz - Putting her disastrous New Year's Eve performance behind, pop diva Mariah Carey will reportedly release a new single this weekend. Teaming up with Compton rapper YG, Mimi recorded the song and filmed a music video for it within 24 hours.

According to TMZ, the pair started recording the song on Saturday, January 21. The site went on saying that Carey wrote the song with her split from ex-fiance James Packer in mind and hoped the track "will be an anthem for women overcoming harsh breakups." The new song, which title has yet to be announced, will be debuted during "Mariah's World" season finale on Sunday, January 29.

When asked if they would be collaborating on a song, YG said, "I don't know what we doing." A cameraman also asked Mimi if she ruled out any performances following her New Year's Eve lip-sync debacle. "No, that was nonsense," Carey shortly responded.

In an interview with Billboard, Carey's manager Stella Bulochnikov teased the singer's new record. "Mariah's working on new music and there's so many things yet to be announced," she said. In addition, Showbiz 411's Roger Friedman reported that L.A. Reid had plans to release Carey's new single within three weeks. "I hear that L.A. Reid and Epic Records want to release a new single by Mariah in three weeks. They've got it, and feel that she needs something on the radio to remind people Carey can really sing - not just lip sync," Friedman said.

The "Obsessed" hitmaker will embark on "All the Hits" tour with longtime friend Lionel Richie. The 35-show trek kicks off on March 15 at Baltimore's Royal Farms Arena and finishes on May 27 at Fort Lauderdale's BB&T Center.
