The Canadian band recruits the 'Take Us Back' singer to lend her voice for the band's new song 'I Give You Power', which appears to be an 'anti-Trump' anthem.

AceShowbiz - Arcade Fire debuts a new song titled "I Give You Power" featuring Mavis Staples. Released via Tidal, the new song is filled with dance rock sound without leaving the band's disco gospel trademark. The track begins with frontman Win Butler's soft vocal before Staples joins soon after.

"I Give You Power" seems to show the rock band's alleged response to president-elect Donald Trump's upcoming inauguration as the lyrics go, "I give you power, I give you power/ But now I say, I give you power, I can take it away."

Although the band has not said if the song is a response to Trump's inauguration, Arcade Fire's frontman Butler is widely known for his vocal attitude towards the president-elect throughout the U.S. election. Butler once showed his stances on the election by tweeting, "We should be so lucky to have Hillary Clinton as our president. Let's get our s**t together. F**k David Duke, f**k Donald Trump."

"I Give You Power" marks Arcade Fire's comeback to the music scenes since the band's last album "Reflektor" was released in 2013. The band is reportedly working on a new album as they recorded some material between summer festival dates in Montreal and during a Reddit AMA last summer. But the group has not confirmed on whether their new song "I Give You Power" will also be included on their new album which will be released sometime in 2017.

Recently, Arcade Fire's official Twitter account tweeted that all proceeds from "I Give You Power" will be donated to ACLU, a non-profit advocacy organization devoted to protecting the basic civil liberties of everyone in America.
