The photos make their way out via a French magazine, which seemingly confirms that Ares will be the big baddie in the upcoming DC superhero movie.

AceShowbiz - New "Wonder Woman" photos are released, featuring Gal Gadot on the filming set in Palinuro, Italy. Another picture shows Connie Nielsen being given instructions by director Patty Jenkins.

The excerpt from French Studio Line Cine magazine, which has been translated by Les Etoiles Heroique, suggests that Ares the god of war will be the villain in the movie. "Why did Zeus create the Amazons?" the excerpt reads. "Because shaping man in his image made his son Ares, incidentally a god of war, mad with jealousy, he convinces the guys to confront each other. To restore harmony between them, Zeus created the Amazons that Ares reduced to slavery. The Amazons revolt with the help of Zeus, who will die of the hand of his son having had time to find Themyscira, their haven of peace where they will grow Diana."

Meanwhile, Chris Pine dishes on his character Steve Trevor. "I play a pilot who works for the Allies and spies on the Germans without their knowledge," says Pine, revealing Trevor's job before meeting Diana in Themyscira. "My character steals a notebook filled with scientific formulas in an Ottoman base, he steals a plane but is shot down in the open sea."

The movie will feature the origin story of Diana Prince a.k.a. Wonder Woman. When Diana meets Steve Trevor whose plane crashes on her idyllic all-female land of Themyscira, she discovers from the pilot that the world is in danger. Thus, Diana decides to follow him to Europe to save the world from war.

"Wonder Woman" is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on June 2. Also starring in the superhero movie are Robin Wright, Lucy Davis, Ewan Bremner, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya and Lisa Loven Kongsli.
