'Black Panther' Adds Emmy Winner Sterling K. Brown to Its Star-Studded Cast

'This Is Us' star Sterling K. Brown joins Marvel's superhero movie 'Black Panther' and will be portraying a mysterious role N'Jobu.

AceShowbiz - Marvel's "Black Panther" continues to gather all the top-notched stars by adding Emmy Award winner Sterling K. Brown to its cast. The "This Is Us" actor will portray a mysterious character N'Jobu, the only figure from T'Challa's past. N'Jobu doesn't appear in the original comic book series.

He joins Chadwick Boseman who stars as the titular hero, Michael B. Jordan who stars as Erik Killmonger, Forest Whitaker, Lupita Nyong'o, Angela Bassett and Danai Gurira. Whitaker, Nyong'o, Basset and Gurira will be playing the role of Zuri, Nakia, Ramonda and Okoye respectively.

The 40-year-old actor expresses his excitement regarding the casting as tweeting, "Beyond thrilled to be joining this immensely talented group of actors & storytellers! Thank you for a seat at the table!"

Brown is best known for his role as Christopher Darden on TV series "The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story", which earned him the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or a Movie at the 68th annual Primetime Emmy Awards. He's also starring on the new NBC series "This Is Us".

"Black Panther" will be directed by Ryan Coogler ("Fruitvale Station", "Creed") and scripted by Coogler himself and Joe Robert Cole. The superhero movie is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on February 16th, 2018 and will begin filming in January in Atlanta, Georgia.
