The Amazonian princess disobeys her mother and steals the 'god killer' sword for good purpose, to save humanity.

AceShowbiz - When Gal Gadot previously appeared in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" as Wonder Woman, she brought a sword she used to fight villain Doomsday. The upcoming "Wonder Woman" standalone movie will show how she gets the "god killer" sword.
It turns out that she steals it from the heavily guarded armory on her idyllic all-female island of Themyscira. The scene is now teased in a new photo released via Entertainment Weekly.
"This is her moment," says director Patty Jenkins. "She's heard all the terrible things about man's land. But she's also heard that mankind is in need and under duress. This is her great moment to make the decision to be the one to try and save them."
It is the sword which will be used by Wonder Woman to save the world. Earlier on, Diana Prince has an encounter with a pilot named Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) in her idyllic all-female land of Themyscira. The pilot's plane crashes on the island, and he tells Diana about World War I which blasts the world outside. That will be the moment when Diana chooses her own path, to dedicate herself for humanity. She decides to disobey her mother Queen Hippolyta and to leave her island. She is about to follow Steve Trevor to Europe to end all wars.
In the rise of superhero movies dominated by men, "Wonder Woman" will be a breath of fresh air. It focuses on a female warrior and how she achieves her goal.
"Wonder Woman" is scheduled to hit theaters on June 2, 2017. Also starring alongside Gal Gadot and Chris Pine are Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Lucy Davis and Lisa Loven Kongsli.
