The sneak peek for the upcoming season of the CW drama series teases the aftermath of the destruction of the nuclear power plants in season 3 and humans' struggles to survive.

AceShowbiz - Survival is much harder than ever in the upcoming fourth season of "The 100", as hinted in a newly released trailer. The 3-minute video previews the aftermath of the destruction of the nuclear power plants with plenty of imagery of acid raid, skin boils, mass graves and human literally turned into dust.

"Black rain will come first," someone says in voiceover, "pre-cancerous lesions will form ... Death is inevitable." Alie offers to Clarke, "Let me ease their pain, Clarke. We can save human race together," but Clarke doesn't seem to be tempted.

The video goes on to show humans' struggles to survive and to strive, while conflicts continue to tear them apart. In between those dark times, at least some couples manage to keep their romance alive, sharing some steamy moments in the trailer.

"The 100" returns for season 4 on Wednesday, February 1 at 9 P.M. ET on The CW.
