The R'n'B singer has nothing but nice words to say about his late dad, who died at the age of 69 after suffering a heart attack during a game of hockey with his other son Carter.

AceShowbiz - Just like everyone else, Robin Thicke was left super devastated by the death of his father Alan Thicke. Hours after new about his actor dad's passing broke, the R&B singer remembered him in a chat with The Los Angeles Times.

As previously reported, Alan passed away on Tuesday, December 13 after suffering a heart attack during a hockey game with his 19-year-old son Carter at the Pickwick Gardens ice skating rink in Burbank, California, where he frequently skated. He was rushed to Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center and was later pronounced dead there.

Speaking of the "Growing Pains" actor, Robin said that his dad was "the greatest man I ever met" and was "always a gentleman." "The good thing was that he was beloved and he had closure," the "Blurred Lines" hitmaker shared. "I saw him a few days ago and told him how much I loved and respected him."

Alan's other son Carter, who was there with him at the ice skating rink, has also broken silence on his father's passing. Later on Tuesday, he shared on Twitter a picture of them posing together and captioned it with a heartbreaking message that read, "Today I lost my best friend and my idol, and the world lost one of it's finest. You are a legend and I love you Pops. Until next time."

In related news, details of Alan's last moments have emerged via ET Online, which has spoken to Pickwick Gardens ice skating rink's vice president Darin Mathewson. He's also the one who called 911 shortly after the late star had a heart attack.

"I was in my office [and] probably in the first 15 to 20 minutes of the game, these guys came running in and said, 'Hey. call 911. We got a guy down.' So I called immediately and went out there," Darin recalled. "In Burbank, the EMTs and the ambulance services are really fast, within a few minutes, and by the time I got out there, they were coming in."

Darin said that Alan was still moving around and speaking to Carter when emergency personnel arrived. He even asked his son to take a picture with him. "When the ambulance got here they checked his vitals ... and they put him on the gurney, sat him up," Darin explained. "On his way out he asked his son to take a picture. He goes, 'Ah, take a shot kiddo' and he did and off they went."

"He had Carter take a picture of him, and said, 'Make sure you get the rink in the background' as they were taking him out of here," he continued. "When he went by us, he gave us the thumbs up, like, 'I'm doing good guys, I'm good.' " Darin added that no one thought it would be their last time to see Alan and that Carter was "very shaken up by the whole thing."

Alan was also survived by his wife Tanya and another son named Brennan.
