'Justice League 2' Pushed Back to Make Room for Ben Affleck's 'Batman'
Movie

Before directing the sequel, Zack Snyder will tackle a smaller-scale film as his post-'Justice League' project to accommodate 'Batman' solo movie.

AceShowbiz - Zack Snyder has confirmed that he will direct "Justice League 2". But before that, he will tackle a smaller-scale film as his post-"Justice League" project, as the sequel which was originally planned for 2019 has been pushed back to make room for Ben Affleck's "The Batman" solo movie.

Snyder will put his focus on his long gestating war thriller "The Last Photograph", as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The director set up the project in the mid-2000s following his success on "300", but the rights lapsed. Gianni Nunnari's Hollywood Gang is currently negotiating a new deal.

Set in a war-torn Afghanistan, "The Last Photograph" centers on a war correspondent who is the only one to survive an attack on a group of Americans. When a special ops soldier in search of a family member shows up, the two team up, with the correspondent hoping to score the story of his life.

The first "Justice League" movie will open in theaters across the U.S. next year on November 17, while Affleck's "Batman" is yet to set a release date. But with "Justice League 2" being pushed back, its vacated June 14, 2019 slot will likely be taken over by Affleck's solo movie.

Before starring in his solo movie, Affleck will reprise his role as the Caped Crusader in "Justice League". He will team up with his newfound ally, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, and other DC superheroes including Jason Momoa's Aquaman, Ezra Miller's The Flash and Ray Fisher's Cyborg.
